Description
Erskine College is a small, private, four-year co-education liberal arts college with BA-1 accreditation, and it is only CCCU/BA-1 school in the south. Erskine is located in a rural setting and is one of the safest campuses in the country. Recognised nationally for its academic excellence, Erskine is a technology leader with interactive computer classrooms and internet connections in every building on campus, including dorm rooms. Erskine competes in 10 NCAA Division II sports. The fine arts and music programs offer a variety of performance opportunities on and off campus.

Mission
Erskine provides an outstanding Christian liberal arts education to all students to prepare them for responsibility living, service and ministry in both church and society. Christian commitment blends with academic excellence in a way, which is neither artificial nor contrived. Location
Erskine College is located in the idyllic academic village of Due West, South Carolina. The town and the college, with a number of antebellum buildings, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Numerous lakes and recreational areas are minutes away as are the cities of Greenwood and Anderson. The college is within easy access of I-26 and I-85, and Atlanta, Charlotte, and Greenville

Facilities
Erskine's spacious 85-acre campus provides classic and modern facilities. The signature towers of the Erskine Building are complemented by a state-of-the-art science facility. Centrally located on the campus is the Bowie Arts Center, a modern, 14,000-square foot museum and gallery. The Galloway Activities Center contains two gyms, racqnetball courts, a weight room, and an athletic training facility. The Literary Societies, as old as the college, are located on campus. Students eat at an award-winning cafeteria and on-campus Pizza Hut.

Accreditation
Erskine College is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Erskine is also a member of the National Commission on Accrediting, the Association of American Colleges, the Association of Presbyterian Colleges, the Coalition for Christian Colleges for Teacher Education. The teacher education programs are approved by the state board of education.

Majors
Erskine for the AB degree can choose the major discipline from: American Studies, Behavioural Science, Bible and Religion, Biology, Chemistry, Christian Education, English, French, History, Mathematics, Music, Natural Science, Physics, Psychology, Social Studies, or Spanish. Candidates for the BS degree can choose the major discipline from: Athletic Training, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Music Education, Physical Education, Special Education, or Sports Management.
