The 12 schools and colleges of the University offer more than 120 undergraduate majors and more than 75 master’s and doctoral degree programs. UWM also has an outstanding ESL program and offers conditional and dual admission to undergraduate students. Graduate students can be admitted needing some additional English language study and enroll in both academic and ESL courses. Key application requirements include: Completed application, apply online at http://apply.wisconsin.edu; educational credentials (original and English translation); TOEFL/IELTS; and fees. UWM’s social life centers on the Union, ranked among the top 20 student unions in the United States. The union has a bookstore, craft center, cinema, art gallery, bowling alleys, billiards, cafe, bank, meeting rooms, offices for student organizations, food court and frequent concerts and lectures. Milwaukee is the largest city and the business, financial, industrial andcultural heart of Wisconsin. The city’s miles of lakefront beaches and trails create a great environment for beach-going, jogging, rollerblading, bicycling and ice skating and crosscountry skiing in the winter. Arts, sports and cultural festivals are held year-round. UWM is located in a quiet, safe and attractive residential area within walking distance of Lake Michigan and public parks. Although metropolitan, Milwaukee’s community makes it feel like a small town. |
