OUR LOCATION

  • Established for 10 years in Fremantle, the port city serving Perth, capital of Western Australia.
  • Located in the “West End” of the lively town of Fremantle with good city transport systems linking to Perth which has a population of about 1.5 million. Fremantle is on the Indian Ocean close to good swimming beaches and sporting facilities and is blessed with many good restaurants and coffee shops plus shopping facilities.
  • You will take classes in restored historical buildings on a small, accessible campus - a “town university” in the tradition of Oxford and Cambridge.
  • There are also two other campuses in Broome(Tropical North) and Sydney(NSW)

OUR STYLE AND PHILOSOPHY

  • Course provision in the European tradition; personalised with small class sizes and high quality teaching with an emphasis on excellence.
  • Based on centuries-old liberal Catholic higher education tradition while being open to other faiths in a tolerant, inclusive educational community.
  • Notre Dame is a values-based university. All undergraduate students undertake studies in three core units – Ethics, Philosophy and Theology. These units are designed to broaden students’ minds, encourage them to develop their values and capacity to think critically and act ethically.
  • We have a diverse student population drawn from over 40 countries and a concentration on providing pastoral care and excellence in student support services.
  • We have a “sister” university relationship with Notre Dame in the United States and enjoy other Notre Dame catholic university affiliations in South America, Asia and the Philippines.
  • Our campus is intentionally small with a capped size of 5,000 students. This makes for small classes and helps students to feel at home while they learn.
  • Notre Dame has one of the highest ratios of teachers to students in an Australian university.

OUR COURSES AND OUR FEE STRUCTURE

  • Our policy is to make fees affordable and reduce cost barriers to entry. Modal fees per annum for undergraduate and postgraduate courses range from $5200 to $A13000 per annum (excluding research degrees and medicine). Value for money is exceptional.
  • Student satisfaction rate – five stars (Good Universities Guide, 2004; Graduate Careers Council of Australia, 2003).
  • Flexibility allows double degree options for our range of accredited courses. There are flexible academic pathways and a calendar for fast track options.
  • To help you prepare for your professional life we have a focus on extensive internships and practicum. On graduation you are employer-ready.
  • We also have a strong Study Abroad program, both inward and outward eg links to Study Abroad at Notre Dame Indiana or other US Catholic universities.
