Founded
in 1865, Bryant College prepares its graduates for success
in life and business through its student-centered mission
that includes challenging academic programs and a culturally
enriching campus life.
The college
is nationally accredited by the prestigious AACSB-The International
Association for Management Education. Bryant awards a Bachelor
of Science in business administration in accounting, accounting
information systems, finance, applied actuarial mathematics,
computer information systems, finance, financial services,
management, and marketing; a Bachelor of Science in information
technology; a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies in economics,
English, history and international studies; a Bachelor of
Arts in Communication; and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
Students may also choose from fifteen program minors. Seventy-nine
percent of Bryant's faculty members have doctoral degrees
or the highest degrees possible in their fields.
Bryant
students have access to 378 computer terminals, microcomputers,
networked workstations, and the Internet. In addition, students
can bring their own computers to access the Internet from
their residence hall rooms. The library is considered one
the region's most comprehensive business collections, containing
more than 140,000 items in book, journal, audiovisual and
electronic formats. Bryant schedules two regular semesters,
fall and spring, and both a winter and a summer session.
Campus
Life
Bryant
attracts students from thirty-two states and forty-six countries.
Housing is guaranteed at Byrant, and 79 percent of students
live on campus. First-year students live with a roommate in
the Freshman Complex; upperclassmen may choose to live in
suites, and seniors often choose townhouses. Housing is available
during the summer, Many students get involved in some of the
sixty clubs and organisations on campus. Bryant also offers
eight intramural sports and nineteen intercollegiate and ten
club sport teams.
For
International Students
The
college offers many support services for international students.
A special international student orientation is held in late
August, just before the school year begins. An ESL specialist
assists international students with writing for class work
and is located on campus in the Academic Center for Excellence.
The Office for International Student Services provides counselling,
advising and support services, including mentoring, as well
as information about requirements of the U.S. Immigration
and Naturalization Service. International Students may also
benefit from services available to all Bryant students, including
academic advising, counselling services, and access to several
programs for improving grades and study skills.

Area
and Climate
Bryant College is situated on a beautiful, secure campus in
suburban Smithfield, Rhode Island. The college is located 15
minutes northwest of Providence, 1 hour southwest of Boston,
and 3 hours north of New York City. Many students consider it
the perfect setting: quite enough to study during the week and
close to enough to major cities to take advantage of internship,
cultural, and recreational opportunities. Public transportation
is readily available. Rhode Island has four distinct seasons
and a climate that is moderated by the bordering Atlantic Ocean.
Temperatures throughout, the school year generally range from
29°F (-2°C) to 71°F (22°C). |
