SETON
HALL UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1856 by Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley, Seton Hall
University is the nation's oldest diocesan institution of
higher education. Named for his aunt, Elizabeth Ann Seton,
a pioneer in Catholic education and the first American-born
saint, the University is today made up of nine schools and
colleges. One of six private universities in New Jersey and
the only Catholic university in the state, Seton Hall currently
enrolls nearly 10,000 students.
The
University is situated on 58 acres in the metropolitan village
of South Orange, just minutes from New York City by train
or car. Nationally recognized programs developed with leaders
in the metropolitan area make the academically challenging
environment at Seton Hall and the Stillman School of Business
stand out.

STILLMAN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
About Us
Business
education began at Seton Hall in 1936 when the first courses
in accounting, finance, international trade and business law
were offered. The Stillman School awarded its first graduate
and undergraduate degrees in 1954 and received AACSB accreditation
of its undergraduate program in 1978 and its graduate program
in 1984.
Today,
the Stillman School offers a learning environment that maximizes
each student's learning experience in Kozlowski Hall, the
newest academic building at Seton Hall, equipped with state-of-the
art technology and teaching space. The Stillman School currently
employs 56 full-time faculty members teaching 775 undergraduates
and 648 graduate students. Business practices are changing
dramatically today and our challenge is to anticipate and
help you learn evolving business management practices.
Our
Mission
The mission of the Stillman School of Business is to be the
school of choice for business education in the state of New
Jersey and to be known nationally as among the best business
schools within a Catholic university.
Our
Focus
Our
focus is on developing in our students the skills necessary
to identify problems, research relevant information and determine
and evaluate alternative courses of action. We develop in
our students the competencies to communicate, work in teams
and manage change, using a unique assessment process that
enables them to measure their growth. Our framework incorporates
the role of the latest technology in making and implementing
decisions. As the business school of the only Catholic university
in New Jersey, the Stillman School framework also stresses
the importance of ethical and socially responsible decision
making. Integrity and professionalism in business are the
cornerstones of a Stillman education.
"Ensuring
that our students develop the highest ethical standards in
whatever field of study they choose is what distinguishes
Seton Hall as a Catholic university. Cultivating professionalism
and integrity in our business students is a key component
of our mission."
Karen Boroff, Ph.D., acting dean of the Stillman School of
