Our University,
which traces its origins to the Catholic University of Ireland
founded in 1854, has grown from its modest beginnings to a
ten faculty institution with over 18,000 students. It is situated
on a large modern campus about 4km to the south of the centre
of Dublin.
Today, University College Dublin is acknowledged as a centre
of excellence for teaching and research, and its degrees are
recognised and respected worldwide. For students, it is a
stimulating and exciting place in which to spend some very
formative years of intellectual and personal development.
|
| Throughout
their years in UCD, both undergraduate and graduate students
are given personal assistance by lecturers, tutors and
demonstrators to enable them to make the optimum use of
their learning opportunities. They are also given a wide
range of opportunities to develop many different types
of skills and to gain valuable experience in different
environments, from studying abroad to undertaking work
placements in degree- related professions and industries. |
