Who is ICFE for?
Cambridge ICFE is suitable for students of finance and accounting and practising accountants and finance professionals.
Students who want to take the exam are expected to be familiar with some finance and accountancy concepts and terminology.
Who administers the test?
ILEC is a Cambridge ESOL examination, developed in co-operation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
How is the test structured?
The test is based on realistic texts and tasks that finance professionals would encounter in their daily working lives. The ICFE consists of four papers:

Reading 1 hour 15 minutes

Writing 1 hour 15 minutes

Listening 40 minutes (approx.)

Speaking 16 minutes (approx.)
How is the test scored?
There are three passing grades:

C1 Pass with Merit

C1 Pass
-
B2 Pass
There are two failing grades, narrow fail and fail.
The grade you receive is based on your ability on all four papers, in addition, you receive a graphical profile indicating areas of comparative strength and/or weakness in the four language skills.
Certificates are awarded to successful candidates.
Who recognises the exam?
Thousands of educational organisations and employers throughout the world recognise the ICFE as a reliable evidence of the level of English the learner has achieved. Cambridge ESOL and ACCA are working towards obtaining recognition for ICFE from professional accountancy bodies, educational organisations, private sector employers and governmental institutions.
Where can I take Cambridge ICFE?
The Cambridge ICFE exam will be taken at authorised Cambridge ESOL examination centres. The Cambridge ICFE is a relatively new exam and will therefore be available in selected countries where there is most demand.
