What is the TOEIC Reading and Listening Test?
The TOEIC Listening and reading test is an English-language proficiency test for non-native speakers of English. The TOEIC Listening and Reading Test measures the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment.
The scores indicate how well you can communicate in English with others in business, commerce and industry. You do not need to have specialised knowledge or vocabulary beyond that of a person who uses English in everyday work activities.

Where and when can I take the TOEIC Listening and Reading Test?
The test is available throughout the world. Testing can be arranged through corporations or other organisations that ask employees or job applicants to take the TOEIC Listening and Reading Test.
If testing has not been arranged through your organisation, contact your local ETS Associate to find out where you can take the test.
How is the test scored?
The number of correct responses you get in each section is converted to a number on a scale of 5 - 495. As there are two sections, the total score you can achieve will range between 10 and 990 points.
You will receive a score report which provides you with your score on each section of the test. Your score report will prove a description of the English language abilities typical of examinees scoring at around a particular scaled score level. There are three possible descriptions for the Listening Section and four possible descriptions for the Reading Section.
Your score report will also include the percentage of questions answered correctly for specific abilities measured.
If you take the test through your employer or sponsoring organisation, your scores are provided to that organisation.
If you take the test independently, you will receive your score report directly from the local ETS Associate.
How long is my score valid for?
Your score is kept on file for two years after the test date.
