What is the TOEIC test?
The TOEIC test (Test of English for International Communication) measures proficiency in international Business English, at intermediate and advanced levels. As opposed to the TOEFL test that has an academic focus, the TOEIC test measures the use of English in, and certifies your ability to work in, an international business context. The TOEIC tests the ability of non-native English-speaking candidates to use English in everyday work activities.

The TOEIC is for non-native English speakers who want to demonstrate English proficiency when applying for new positions and obtaining credentials.
How is the TOEIC structured?
The TOEIC test has traditionally been offered as the TOEIC Listening and Reading Test. However, for a full assessment of a person's ability to communicate in English across all four-language skills, a separate TOEIC Speaking and Writing Test has been introduced.

How is the test scored?
Scores on the TOEIC test are determined by the number of correct answers on each section, which is then converted into a scale score. Test takers are awarded separate scores for different sections in addition to the total scaled score. You will be given a score report which shows your results.
How long are my scores valid for?
TOEIC scores are valid as long as English proficiency remains the same. Generally, over a period of around 2 years.
Where is this test recognised?
The TOEIC test an internationally recognised standard of measurement of workplace English proficiency. It is used as a certification tool by companies, language schools and government agencies all over the world.
