BackStudying in France

France has a higher education system unique in Europe. Alongside the country's universities are a network of fee-paying business and engineering schools, many funded in part by regional chambers of commerce. These so called 'Grandes Ecoles' are present in all of France's major towns, from Lille to Marseille, offering a complete range of bachelor, masters and specialised programmes.

Faced with such a wide choice, those looking to study in France could do worse than to check on a school's accreditations first. EQUIS, the European quality label, is only held by a select handful of French business schools. Other factors such as the programmes offered, faculty, quality of life both on and off the campus and the school's recent growth will all go a long way to narrowing down the options.

A good case in point is Audencia, the school of management of France's sixth largest city, Nantes. Already famed for its clement climate and standard of living, the city can now boast a school that has rapidly risen to become the fifth ranked in the country. Audencia's range of English-language programmes for international students, such as Audencia MBA and its MSc in International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, has brought it a reputation as one of France's most dynamic Grandes Ecoles.
