CIT - a diverse Institute CIT is a vibrant Institute embracing three campuses and with a growing total enrolment of 14,000. These students pursue courses (both full-time and part-time) in five main areas, Science and Computing, Engineering, Business and Humanities and Art and Music. The extensive campus at Bishopstown in the Western suburbs of the city is the main location for Science, Engineering, Computing, Business, Social Studies and Hotel and Tourism Studies. An ambitious development plan is currently under way transforming this campus with investment of more than €38 million. Cork School of Music and Crawford College of Art & Design are constituent schools of CIT located in Cork City Centre. |

Brian Corcoran
|
Brian graduated with an honours Degree in Computer Applications (CR106) from CIT in 1995. Brian availed of the course progression possibilities in CIT, successfully obtained a Distinction in the Certificate in Computing (CR016) before transferring onto the Degree stream. He had a A in Ordinary level Maths and had no prior experience of computing before starting the course, but as his results show that these are not essential to understanding and applying computing at the highest level. Brian is employed by Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd as an Analyst/Programmer in the Information Technology (IT) department. |

Sinead
O'Riordan
|
Sinead O'Riordan graduated with an honours BEng in 1998. She joined Motorola as a software test group, working on telecommunications software for cellular networks. "One thing I really liked in CIT was how approachable the lecturers were. Most of my class groups were quite small, and I was able to ask questions easily both inside and outside of the lectures". |
