| Surrounded
by stunning countryside and with 12 kilometres of sandy beaches,
Bournemouth is a vibrant and cosmopolitan resort that is big
enough to offer all the amenities you would expect from a
large town and yet small enough to maintain a safe and friendly
environment. As one of the UK's premier visitor destinations
and business centres, it is also the ideal place to study
tourism, hospitality, leisure, retail, sport and related management
subjects.
The School
of Services Management at Bournemouth University offers internationally
recognised courses in a wide range of management areas for
both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Our Catering
and Hospitality courses were ranked first in the UK in 2001*,
and our Retail Management degree has for a number of years
been considered by many retailers to be the best in the country.
We are also a major centre for research in these areas, with
up to 40 students researching for MPhil and PhD awards. The
School is home to a number of research centres including the
International Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Research
and the Centre for Public Sector Foodservice Research.
