PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The curriculum is based on the successful completion of 3 sets of courses in management:

Stage 1. Core courses
The first part of the programme is devoted to core-courses which provide a general foundation in the major management fields with an international focus: Accounting, Finance, Law, Marketing, Strategy etc.

  • The goal of this stage is to acquire the methods and tools to understand the mission, the environment and the cost-structure of an organization.

Stage 2. Concentrations
In the second part, participants tailor their individual learning programme by choosing from 4 concentrations. Selecting a concentration enables each participant to reinforce his expertise in a particular area:

International Strategic Management

  • The programme covers the broadest areas in strategic management in the international context. It prepares managers to analyse the competitive environments and to design the strategic orientations of their activities/companies.

Management of Technology

  • This concentration is designed to prepare participants for the challenges of managing people, projects and organizations in a technological context.

Change Management and Consulting

  • The dynamic environment creates many opportunities, changes structures and organizations and alters the way people act, work and think. This concentration proposes knowledge and skills for participants who want to generate and manage change in the organizations as consultant or manager.

Entrepreneurship and Project management

  • To create an enterprise and to manage a project in an existing company require the same expertise and have the same constraints. The programme covers the different aspects of the entrepreneurship and project management processes.

Stage 3. Transversal courses
The third part lead participants to realize their leadership potential through :

Simulation Challenges

  • Those seminars make connections between the professional experience and the concepts learned during the programme. Simulation Challenges are the most important originality of AUDENCIA MBA. They are positioned throughout the curriculum to mobilize the skills and knowledge acquired during the formation. The most important Simulation Challenge is AUDENCIA MBA Competition.

AUDENCIA MBA Competition is a strategic simulation business game between academic and professional teams representing different European Accredited Business Schools and international Companies. This competition is an experience with fully international orientation based on business situations close to reality. Through AUDENCIA MBA Competition, participants:

- exercise strategic intuition and vision as an entrepreneur,
- practise effective implementation of corporate strategy,
- understand the importance of operational discipline and cost awareness,
- consider the difference between strategic and management thinking and the skills required for each.

During two days (3rd and 4th December 2002), the first edition of AUDENCIA MBA Competition have brought together Teams for four European accredited Business Schools : AUDENCIA School of Management, University of Bradford Management School (UK), EADA (Barcelona, Spain) and Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management (Warsaw, Poland).

Leadership seminars

  • Those courses lead participants to analyze factors that shape the leadership and to use tools that make it easier.

Individual Project (from June to September)

  • Consulting mission or Internship or Thesis.
This project is an opportunity for participants to work as consultant or trainee within a company. Individual thesis allow the student to explore a particular business function or business sector in connection with the concentration completed.

THE LEARNING APPROACH

Learning how to work and how to generate collective knowledge, to share arguments and ideas in a results-oriented way is the motto of AUDENCIA MBA. Sessions are in essence treated as business meetings which need a very high level of preparation and co-ordination between participants. Courses are based on very professional teaching approaches with clear objectives, intensive debates and presentation of results. The underlying assumption is that participants are fully involved in the academic institution and must bring ideas and concrete results to sessions.

Each course hour requires at least three hours of personal work involving the reading or preparation of documents (articles, books, cases), so as to allow informed discussions and cogent decisions during the meetings themselves. These preparation requirements will be clearly specified for each course. Emphasis is placed on group work and teaching methods are varied and intense with formats ranging from lectures and case studies, to projects and presentations. To succeed, students must be very well organized and be able to share information and plan duties, for both individual and group projects.
