Leicester
Business School,
De Montfort University,
has a long, successful
and distinguished
record in the delivery
of its MBA. The MBA
was first offered
on a part-time basis
in 1983 and shortly
after its launch,
the course gained
accreditation from
the Association
of Masters of Business
Administration (AMBA).
Newly
formatted in 2003,
the Leicester Business
School MBA is a leading
career development
programme for practising
managers. The overall
aim of the programme
is to balance theoretical
analysis with practical
application, hence
developing a critical
and questioning approach
to the conceptual
underpinnings of
management. The Leicester
Business School MBA
will allow participants
to acquire a 'real
world' Masters degree,
globally recognised
and quality kite
marked by its AMBA
accreditation.
The
programme structure
brings to the fore
current thinking
in management education,
to enable participants
to acquire core competencies
across a wide range
of academic disciplines
and skills bases.
This will allow participants
to both add value
and demonstrate a
working knowledge
of strategic management
skills, in a wide
range of global organisations.
The
Leicester Business
School MBA is further
enhanced by the international
student cohort, contributing
a wealth of world-wide
business experience
and cultural diversity.
The
course commences
with an induction
programme covering
the fundamentals
of management education.
This levelling programme
will allow students
from business and
non-business backgrounds
to attain equivalence
in their knowledge
base before embarking
on the MBA programme.
The MBA will lead
with core modules
that broaden and
critically examine
key business and
management fundamentals.
To enhance the integration
of these core modules,
Strategy in a Complex
Environment will
form a "linchpin"
module, pulling together
the strategic management
skills within the
core modules, equipping
participants with
the ability to think
conceptually and
holistically.
Students
will also undertake
several optional
modules, allowing
for focus in a particular
field such as finance
or marketing, or
a more general management
focus.
The
MBA students are
based in the Leicester
Business School Graduate
Centre, a modern
and professional
environment dedicated
to postgraduate study
and research in business-related
subjects. This is
located on the Leicester
City Campus, just
10 minutes walk from
much of the university
accommodation and
the city centre.
The
Leicester Business
School MBA is competitively
priced, and fees
include one years
membership of AMBA.
