IEP Curriculum
IEP students may apply for provisional acceptance to Western Carolina University and, after successfully completing the IEP, may apply to a degree program at WCU without a TOEFL score. The IEP also offers Academic English for Non-native Speakers (English 131) as a credit-bearing elective course for students who have been accepted into a degree program at Western Carolina University. Each level of instruction is designed to be completed in one 15-week semester. Beginning level students can complete the program in four semesters including summer study. Other students can complete the program in less time depending upon their level of English proficiency. These courses are offered on a non-for-credit basis.
