Cheese curds, fresh curds of cheese either eaten cold or fried, is a popular treat for locals. As such, a popular souvenir is the infamous novelty hats shaped as a triangular block of cheese made from yellow foam. But Wisconsin has much more than just dairies and cheese. In fact, Wisconsin has a quite diverse terrain. Wisconsin has numerous lakes, forests, sandstone formations, and of course, populous, active cities.
The Great Outdoors
Wisconsinites love being outdoors and participate in countless activities regardless of the weather. In the summer, locals crowd the lakes and participate in many water sports such as tubing, water skiing and boating. Hiking, biking and camping are other popular summertime activities. In the fall, Wisconsinities don their blaze orange gear and head out to the forests for gun-deer hunting season. Some activities don't stop when the snow hits, such as fishing. Wisconsinities love to fish, and the ice and snow does not prevent them from getting out on the lake to catch some big fish. Other popular wintertime sports include skiing and snowmobiling.
Go Pack
In the fall, where will you find a true Wisconsinite? On Lambeau Field of course. Wisconsin is home to the Green Bay Packers, an NFL football team. Door County
Door County is one of the most prettiest and popular tourist destinations in the state.
