Prague Film SchoolPrague Film School is ranked among the world's leading film schools. The school's accelerated programs, its international faculty, its location in Prague and its talent-rich student body all contribute to this recognition.
Based in Prague, the ethos of the school is a mix of European art-house and American independent cinemas. Faculty are recruited from both sides of the Atlantic and consist of top international and Czech professionals who daily mentor the creative, artistic and professional development of the students. The school aims to promote artistic creativity while instructing industry craft skills. How does Prague Film School distinguish itself from the other film programs out there?Praxis-oriented: It is not uncommon for students to have worked on close to 30 films throughout the course of the year. One would be hard-pressed to find a program that provides as much practical exposure to filmmaking. The operating principle of the school is training, and we believe, as with instruments or with languages, the only way to develop fluency is to practice. Intensive: The type of student who chooses Prague Film School comes to us because he or she has essentially only one year in terms of time or financial resources to break into the world of professional filmmaking. We then have only one year to bring these students to a level of competence where they can operate professionally. As such the program is highly squeezed. |
