Study In Cyberjaya - Explore Universities in Cyberjaya

Study in Cyberjaya, and find the best universities in Cyberjaya.

Cyberjaya is a unique project in East Asia, and only officially came into existence in 1997. With aspirations to be Malaysia’s Silicon Valley, Cyberjaya was created as a new town with a science park at its core, situated just 50km south of Kuala Lumpur.

Despite being built as a city of the future, no actual goals for the town have ever been announced. As it enters its fifteenth year, the future of Cyberjaya is no more certain than it was at its outset, but this is a fascinating and different place to be an international student.

Study in Cyberjaya?

As a brand new city, Cyberjaya’s education system is still developing. Nonetheless, there are a couple of exciting universities offering degrees that attract international students. You could choose to study a graduate degree in Cyberjaya at:

Undergraduate degrees in Malaysia typically take between 3-4 years to complete, depending on the subject, institution and mode of study.

As a centre of research and development, you may also be able to research courses or degrees with multi-national companies directly.

Immigration and visas

The country has strict immigration laws and regulations so it is important that you are fully prepared before going to study in Malaysia.

All people entering the country must have valid passports and internationally recognised travel documents valid for at least six months after entry in to Malaysia.

To study in Malaysia you must obtain a student pass. To gain one of these you will need to have a firm offer from a university as well as the necessary entry visa. The institution where you will study will be able to help you with this process.

Gaining visas for study in Malaysia can be a long process. You can find out more information at: http://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/ms/

Accommodation and living costs

As a brand new, purpose built technology centre, almost all international students coming to Cyberjaya will live in dedicated accommodation provided by their chosen university. Cyberjaya is still a small development, so private rental opportunities are limited and often only offered to foreign expats coming for work.

With Kuala Lumpur only 35 minutes away by road, some students opt to live in the bright lights of the city.
