Study in Sheffield?

Sheffield has always had a reputation as a university town. It is particularly popular with international students looking for a friendly and inexpensive city to live in. Both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University have respected journalism and media courses, while the city’s closeness to the Peak District make it a popular destination for science and botany students.

The two universities where you can study a degree in Sheffield are:

  • University of Sheffield
  • Sheffield Hallam University

Most degrees in Sheffield will take between 3-4 years to complete, but some short courses may also be available. You may also have to prove your English language skills before being accepted onto a course in the UK.

  • Are enrolled at an accredited university or institution
  • Have proof of sufficient funds to cover your undergraduate degree in the UK for its duration

The benefits of this include being able to meet other students more easily, living closer to the university and having your bills sorted out for you.

However, many students will choose to live privately at some point. There are plenty of student houses available in Sheffield, from large mulitshare houses to individual flats.

Popular areas to live for students include:

  • Ecclesall Road/Hunters Bar
