Study In Delaware - Explore Universities in Delaware

Study in Delaware, and find the best universities in Delaware.

Delaware is the second smallest state in the US, located on the Atlantic Coast and bordered by the much more heralded Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Despite this, Delaware has a unique claim to fame, being the first state in the US to ratify the Constitution.

Delaware is best known as a tax haven and headquarters (in name only) to many major corporations due to its generous corporation tax rate. However, away from this, the state is pretty and cosy, home to sleepy towns, rolling countryside and some of America’s most beautiful and isolated beaches.

Undergraduate degrees in the United States last between 2-4 years depending on the type of degree and qualification you choose. An Associate degree takes two years to complete, while a Bachelors degree takes four years.

Immigration and visas

Before travelling to the USA to study, you will need to apply for a non-immigrant visa for study in Delaware.

The most common kind of student visa is the F-1 visa, which entitles the holder to study at any US accredited college or university.
To apply for a student visa, you will need to fill out an application form (found on the US Embassy website) and send appropriate documentation, such as evidence of financial standing and proof of university acceptance and academic qualifications, as well as possibly attending a visa interview at the US Embassy in your home country.

Accommodation and living costs

International students coming to study in Delaware will most likely live in university accommodation, either in halls of residence or apartments. Rent, utilities and maintenance are all combined in university housing, making it easier to settle into student life and get to grips with your studies.

You should contact the housing department of your university to find out about your options and the costs of university accommodation. They will also be able to help you should you decide to look for graduate housing in Delaware privately.
