| The
Department of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS) is
increasingly recognised to be a centre of excellence in teaching and research
in political science, political theory,comparative politics, international relations and international political economy. The Department was a awarded a top rating of 5 in the Research Assessment Exercise and secured a maximum rating of 24 in the national Quality Assurance Agency Subject Review. POLSIS is a dynamic and growing department that currently has 30 full time members of staff all of whom are research active. The Graduate School currently has over one hundred students enrolled on Master s programmes and 45 MPhil/PhD students, a high percentage of whom are funded by the ESRC. |

The range of expertise within the Department
allows POLSIS to provide a variety of excellent postgraduate programmes
in a stimulating academic and social MA International Studies (Globalisation
and Governance;International Political Economy; International Economic
Managment; European Integration; European MA in Political Science MA in Political Thought and Theory |
