The Business School has a well established reputation for its Business courses, students leave with the skills and confidence to find stimulating and rewarding jobs often within an international business environment. All the lecturers on the programmes have previously worked in industry and contact with companies throughout the programmes ensures that the subjects always remain up to date, fresh and enjoyable. Most of the Undergraduate programmes include a 40 week business placement where students work in industry before their final year of study. This is a valuable experience which enhances the student's career prospects on graduation.

English and Study Skills Programmes
Pre-Sessional Course 4 weeks, designed for students who already have a place on a programme and wish to improve their study skills before starting the course. The main aim of this programme is to help prepare you in a practical way for living, working and studying at Bournemouth University and in the UK
Pre-University English Program 12 weeks designed for students who improve both their English and study skills in order to apply for a Masters programme at the Business School. The aim of the programme is to build student's English language level to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 560 as well as to prepare them for the study skills they will need to be successful on the Masters programme.

The Business School Language Centre

The Business School Language Centre offers students a place in which to study in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The Centre compromises an 18 position audio laboratory, satellite TV and video viewing area and resources room. The Centre holds a wide range of language learning materials in French, German or Spanish including books, cassettes, dictionaries, videos and computer software. There are also facilities for students who need and want to improve their English and the Language Adviser is on hand to assist with self study.


Research & Consultancy

The Business School has two key research and consultancy centres:

  • Centre for Organisational Effectiveness
  • Family Enterprise Centre

Both of these centres reflect the strategic needs of the region and work with key national organisations to formulate strategic change in areas such as family business, e-learning, call centre management and supply chain networks.
