| At
the Distance Learning Centre (DLC) we ensure that our students are at the
centre of everything we do. As a result, we have enabled thousands to achieve
their personal and professional aims since our inception 18 years ago.
One of the many attractions of distance learning is that it enables you to incorporate learning into your busy professional and personal life, and puts you firmly in control when planning your study. This should not mean, however, that you are left feeling isolated. All students need contact and guidance along the way and to ensure you get the help you need the DLC has a comprehensive support network in place. Click on a link below to find out more about the courses we offer or to contact us directly. The Education for Sustainability programme is unique in exploring both environmental education and development education in the context of education for sustainability. It has been recognised internationally for it's contribution to the field and has welcomed a rich diversity of students from many different regions and disciplines.
Whether you decide to study full time or by distance learning, you will receive for each unit, a Study Guide designed and written by an expert in the field; a Reader, collecting together key texts dealing with the unit's subject; and supplementary material. You will be assessed entirely by coursework. There are no examinations. Who
can join the programme?

Our materials are regularly reviewed and updated, and address key issues in nursing and midwifery today, to enable you to relate these to your own area of practice.
Each of the above courses comprise eight units, one of which must be a research and one a science unit, which can be studied at any time. You choose a further five units if you are studying for the diploma, or four units for the degree. Your personal tutor will be on hand to guide you. At the end of the course you complete an integrating study. This gives you the opportunity to explore a topic of interest to you in your practice in greater depth, drawing on what you have learnt in the preceding units. This study is equivalent to one unit at diploma level and two units at degree level.
