Guidance Aviation is an FAA approved helicopter pilot training institution that offers the most comprehensive, effective training available.
Since 1998, Guidance Aviation has been a leader in helicopter training, producing pilots who set the industry standard for professionalism and safety.
We've created a streamlined and straightforward program with clear benchmarks so you know exactly where you're at, where you're going, and how long it will take to get there.
Conventional FBO-style flight schools or "flying clubs" often have indefinite goals—programs typified by a "you'll be done when you're done" mindset that we've come to call "perpetual training."
Our program embraces the academic structure of a university education, coupled with academy-style training modeled after law enforcement. Training adheres to a structured schedule: From the beginning, students are set on a regimented path toward their Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certificated Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFI-I) ratings.
Just like the U.S. Military, where excellence is the standard, we use simulation extensively. All students are provided with simulator training prior to any flight training, enabling them to first learn basic tasks without the distractions that come with the flight environment.
Simulation training prior to flight has the added effect of making time spent in the aircraft more productive, which reduces overall costs.
We've developed our own instructional videos and multimedia training materials. In fact, Guidance Aviation is one of the few helicopter flight schools in the country to have training videos approved by the FAA as a portion of ground school. These videos and other digital training materials are available to our students via MyGA, our online training portal.
Our Prescott, Arizona campus provides a unique opportunity to train in terrain that is as beautiful as it is challenging. The school itself is located at 5,045 feet above sea level making it an ideal location for high altitude training.
By training at high altitude, you acquire the experience necessary for wherever your career takes you.
Prescott also offers:
- 350 flying days per year.
- 100,000 acres of off-airport training areas
- class D towered airspace
- close to Phoenix class B airspace
- diverse geographical landscapes
- impressive cross-country destinations
Safety is our number one priority. We understand that safety is a learned behavior and we continuously strive to improve operations, creating the safest environment for our students and employees.
In order to ensure students and employees enjoy a safe educational and work environment, we continually review and re ne our processes and procedures, and reward participation in our safety management system at all levels. This cultural approach to safety is the core of our safety philosophy.
