There is no college anywhere in the U.S. or the world quite like John Jay. Founded in 1964, John Jay College of Criminal Justice (City University of New York) is one of the nation’s most prestigious liberal arts universities. The theme of justice is at the heart of each program, ranging across the arts, sciences and humanities. The breadth and diversity of scholarship at John Jay promises a rich learning experience to our students. 30 undergraduate majors, 40 minors, 11 Master’s programs, and three Doctoral programs are offered. Our 15,000 students represent over 130 nationalities.

Located in the heart of New York City, John Jay occupies a newly expanded, state-of-the-art campus that provides a wealth of opportunities to cultivate student interests, leadership, civic engagement and cultural diversity.  Laboratories and research facilities for forensic science, forensic psychology, emergency management and other disciplines add new and exciting enhancements to the overall educational experience. Our Programs:
John Jay’s academic programs balance the sciences, humanities and the arts with professional studies. The College is unique in its mission, providing rigorous course work, research, internships, community service and other learning experiences to prepare students to make a difference for themselves and others and to transform ideas into social action and leadership.
Our Faculty:
The John Jay faculty, about 1,100 strong, includes Pulitzer Prize-winners and widely honored scholars and experts in a variety of academic fields, with credentials from the world’s top universities. They have been recognized by their professional peers and at all levels of government for their research, writing, teaching and mentoring. Through their research – often in collaboration with students – they advance knowledge to help build and sustain just societies.
Student Life:
We believe in learning beyond the classroom and coursework.  We foster leadership development, cultural awareness, personal growth and civic responsibility throughout our campus. As a result we have an incredibly vibrant, engaged and supportive college community. Our students socialize on the lawn of the college’s 60,000-square-foot rooftop plaza and watch new student productions in John Jay’s Black Box Theatre. They participate in a cultural and sporting activities and events, such as the JJ Bloodhound Trailblazers Leadership Series, a student government and over 40 student organizations and clubs.

John Jay offers comfortable and caring housing options to its students. The College ensures that each residence hall has a welcoming home atmosphere, and each room includes amenities like study desks, chairs, chests of drawers, closets or wardrobes, wireless Internet access, and a cable connection. The residence halls are also conveniently located, offering an easy 15-minute subway commute to campus.
John Jay College’s 15 Men’s and Women’s sports teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. Sports include Basketball (M+W), Soccer (M+W), Tennis (M+W), etc.
Tuition and fees for a full course of study are roughly $14,000 per year for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
