WHY STUDY AT MANHATTANVILLE?
1LOCATION - The College is located in a suburban neighborhood on a 100 acre campus, about three miles from White Plains, New York, a city with a population of 60,000. In addition to all that White Plains has to offer, one can catch a bus, train or drive to New York City. Times Square/Broadway is 45 kilometers from Manhattanville College. In addition to being so close to the variety of things to do in New York City, there are three major airports nearby: John F. Kennedy Airport, LaGuardia Airport and White Plains Airport making it convenient for international flights. There is also public transportation (bus service) on campus.
This “location” advantage for college students means that resources are near you. This could mean an internship at a multi-national company, use of many libraries and museums, or just hanging out in New York City with 8.5 million of your new friends!
2WE LOVE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS! - Manhattanville has a long history of enrolling International students and takes great pride in our multicultural atmosphere on campus. The most popular majors for our international students include Finance, Business, Economics, Psychology, Communication, Computer Science, and Biology. Walking around campus, you will hear many different languages and meet students from all over the world. We currently have 120 international students from 48 countries and the racial/ethnic mix of the overall undergraduate population is: 26% Hispanic, 9% African American, 47% Caucasian, 2% Asian and other.
3Manhattanville presents a small college atmosphere with caring faculty who are passionate, experts in their field of study. With close to 1800 undergraduate students, most classes have less than 20 students each and as a result, you will have the opportunity to get to know your professors and advisors well. This is even more important as you near graduation and are looking for advice and references for that first job!
