The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) was established in 1845 as the first specialist agricultural education institution in the English-speaking world. To this day, we continue to be pioneers of agricultural education and a key contributor to the land-based sector.
The current global challenges of food security and climate change provide important opportunities for our graduates. The need to produce more food in a sustainable way, protecting the environment, boosting the rural economy and enhancing its communities, makes this an ideal time to choose to study at the RAU.
Our campus in located in Cirencester, known as the Capital of the Cotswolds and one of the most beautiful areas of England. This charming and fascinating town is a harmonious mix of old and new; with a rich history dating back to the Roman period, combined with a modern and creative social scene.
Cirencester is well-located with strong transport links to bigger cities such as Bath, Birmingham, Oxford and London.
The closest airports are in Bristol and Birmingham, with London Heathrow just a 90 minute drive away.
