The University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) was founded in 1953 and it is the biggest public university of economics in the Czech Republic. VŠE has six faculties offering applicants a broad spectrum of study fields and branches in bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree study programs. Currently, there are almost 17,000 students at VŠE. The university is truly international. Ten percent of its degree students come from abroad, and each year there are hundreds of exchange students from all around the world. Studies at VŠE meet the requirements of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
The Faculty of Business Administration
The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Economics, Prague is among the most respected schools in Central and Eastern Europe focused on the field of management. Its mission is to generate and transmit knowledge, develop skills and form attitudes for the successful management of companies and organizations in a changing global environment. There are approximately 3,500 full-time students at FBA. We offer study branches at the Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels of study. Two of our programs – International Management (CEMS MIM) and Management– are regularly placed in the prestigious global Financial Times Ranking for business education. In 2015, the International Management program ranked in the 4th position and Management in the 72nd position.

International accreditations and rankings
The university is highly appraised both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The Faculty of Business Administration (home faculty of the CEMS Programme) is EQUIS accredited, which ranks the faculty among the top 1% of business schools in the world. In August, 2016, the Initial Accreditation Committee of AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accepted the Eligibility Application, thus allowing VŠE to enter the five-year business accreditation process. VŠE is ranked by the Financial Times annually and has already been appraised for several years by the Eduniversal Ranking project as one of the best "business schools" in Central and Eastern Europe. Since 2013 VŠE has been also ranked in QS World University Rankings - one of the most prestigious international rankings of higher education institutions.

The cost of living in Prague is fairly low. Transportation, food shopping, dining and accommodation are still considerably cheap compared to most West European capitals. The university offers accommodation at a dormitory, which is located about 15 minutes from the university campus.Prague is also a safe city with a highly efficient and well integrated public transport network.
International Students Services
Each international programme has its coordinator who assist students with administrative procedures and all issues regarding their studies. In addition, our Admission office and the organization Buddy system organize activities and events for international students throughout the whole year.
