Chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1845, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is the oldest institution of higher learning offering continuous education in the state of Texas. UMHB’s vision is to become the university of choice for Christian higher education in the Southwest.

Our 340-acre campus is large enough to provide a wealth of opportunities and experiences, small enough to walk across, and one of the safest campuses in the nation.  There are seven residence halls and five apartment complexes available to students on campus, along with recreational facilities, dining hall, computer labs, and even a convenience store!

Total enrollment at the University is more than 3,900. The student to teacher ratio is 19 to 1. In addition to a full range of 40 undergraduate programs, the university offers 19 graduate degree programs.  English as Second Language courses are available for intermediate level students looking to improve their academic English before beginning a degree program.

Campus Life
Students on campus at University of Mary Hardin-BaylorThe exceptional UMHB experience continues outside the classroom as well!  Students love to support our 2016-17 Division III National Championship football team, as well as the outstanding baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, and golf teams.  Recreational teams are available to all interested students.  In addition, you may find a place in Student Government Association, Campus Activities, Online Gamers’ clubs, community services clubs, and many more.  We even have hammocks available to check out if you need a nap on the beautiful campus between classes!
Services for International Students
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s International Student Services office is your one-stop shop for answers, advice, and assistance.  In your first semester, we provide airport pickup,  transportation to banks, telephone service offices, and shopping.  We also provide orientation sessions regarding your F-1 visa, government reporting requirements, US tax reporting, health insurance, driver’s licenses, and anything else you might wonder about.  We are here to help you adjust to US culture, university culture, and keep your student visa in legal status.  As you get closer to graduation, we provide guidance regarding employment and/or applying to graduate schools.  We want your study abroad experience to be positive and successful!

International Scholarships
In addition to eligibility for all academic scholarships, international students receive a $3,750 per semester scholarship simply because we value our international community!  Maintain good academic standing, and you will receive this scholarship every semester of enrollment. That's a total of $30,000 over 8 semesters.
